Subject: Re: CBF Missions Committee

Dear praying friends at Christian Bible Fellowship,

Greetings from the Paul family, South Africa.
How are you all? We are looking forward to the September 2007 Missions
celebrations at CBF.
Our heart felt thanks to you for taking this responsibility of praying and
supporting for this "wild animals serving" in a wild mission field of South
Africa.

April 27th to May 2nd we had one thousand nine hundred and ninety seven
Kilometers drive and did membercare (Pastoral care) for our 12 missionaries
serving in 5 locations. We stayed in three different homes &  locations, and
attend  two churches on Sunday the 29th. Preached in the morning service and
traveled  460 KM to attend the evening service with our fellow
missionaries, who are actively involved in the Zulu speaking church and a
mission hospital (Mseleni Mission hospital) in that location.  We have 3000
Children (HIV/AIDS enslaved orphas) placed in many foster homes in a
95,000people population.  We (SIM) have a program of feeding the families
adopted these children in 49 locations of this district, which stretches 125
Kilometers.  There are no good roads to these locations.  We have the
Mseleni Children home having 39 Children in our orphanage right now.  Some of
the children are really a challenge, and break our heart even in a short
visit.
How about Mrs. Rachel Fredlund, working with them in  day today basis?
Rachel is a wife of Vitor,  Medical Dr. and medical manager of the 190 bed
hospital planted by our mission in 1936.  Victor and Rachel are there since
1981, raised three children in the African bush. By the way Rachel is a UK
qualified Social Worker.( I am sorry I became  little emotional when I wrote
about them). I thanks the Lord who gave us this eternally higher calling in
our lives and sustains us in the African mission field.

We really appreciate your prayers.  You are the ones who up hold the rope
from that side.

May 9th, we had a meeting and lunch with the AEC (Africa Evangelical Church)
leadership to read through and accept a constitution to apply for a Non
Profit Organization to continue the effective Miners Ministry.

May 15th I am asked to represent the Mission in a presentation at a Bible
School by one of our HIV/AIDS related ministry project at Pietermartisburg.

Pietermaritzburg is a historic place in the South African and Indian
History.  Mr. Gandhi was thrown out of a moving (running) train at this
place in 1893, because he was traveling in a first class ticket, and
refused to move into the cabin which was only allowed for the colored or
darker people. Mahathma Gandhi, and Nelson Mandela were imprisoned in a
prison that turned to a Christian organization recently called "Project
Gateway". I have to do an End of Term Review of one of our short term
missionary serving in Duduza Home (Home of comfort in Zulu) serving under
Project Gateway.  Pietermaritzburg is 520 Kilometers away form Johannesburg.

May  18th is the SIM South Africa Field Council (SAFC).  We will have to
host other members coming out of town on the 17th, and as the Personnel &
Member care Director I have a major role in the SAFC.

May 19th Molly and I enter into the 28th years of our marriage. The same day
we have a Church dedication service at Ikkageng. And as you pray for us
please remember we are living in the 27th house in these 27 years.  We are
in the 7th house in South Africa Mission Field for the last 13 years.
You all know we serve the Lord with a mission board called SIM.  Sim is
serving in mission.  Sim also means Surely I Move.

Family update:  Philip the only (left over) child at home is already taller
than the father.  God willing, he will celebrate his 16th Birth Day on the
1st of September 2007.
He is doing well at the school, and received merit colors for Leadership,
and for First Aide.  He is listed 14th of the top 25 students of the classes
of over 300 Juniors (Grade 11 in South Africa). Last year in grade 10 he was
listed 24th.  Thanks again for praying for him.  He has grown tall after his
Baptism at Westover Church (Greensboro, NC) on the 3rd December 2006.
Manju and Timothy are doing well at Louisville, KY.  Pray for manju's
effective teaching grade 6th.  And Timothy's study to complete in May 2008.
Anju and Family back in Dallas after the dedications of Amey and Acsa IN
INDIA, ON  THE 5TH OF MAY. Pray for their ministry to the Indian Community
in Dallas, TX.
Pray for Molly as she experience back pain, and she is on medication to get
full relief.  Granmamolly will be back on Saturday.
Pray for the upcoming ministry commitments to do it effectively.  Pray for
all of us that we walk with the Lord.

Thanks
Pookkattu for the Paul caln
