Dear Praying Friends,
We just arrived home from Bloemfontain. This is where my specialist, Dr.
Frieda Pienaar resides. She is a solid Christian and is always such an
encouragement to both Sandy and me. She reviewed my blood work results
taken this past March the 15th. GOOD NEWS! My lymphocyte count was
down from 6.5 last month to 5.9. The normal reading is from 1-4. They
usually begin Chemo at about 11. How about praying me all the way down
to normal! She said, "Jake, I call this my little shop of miracles.
People are still alive today that by all medical reasoning should have
been gone long ago." Dr. Pienaar is a strong believer in the power of
prayer. Could God have given me a better specialist? You know the
answer to that one.
Our puppeteers did an excellent job this past Sunday at Welkom Baptist
church. PRAY for little Tsumi. He came to us in rags out at Hani Park.
His eyes were full of tears. He said, "My father has refused me." PRAY
for me as I am going to ask him if I can speak to his father. We have
another performance at Nyala House (a senior retirement home) coming up
soon.
Welkom Baptist church continues to grow. One couple, Clark and Denese
have applied for church membership. We heard their testimonies last
Sunday. PRAY for Michael and Mari who are coming regularly ( in their
late 40's). Mari brought daughter and her daughter's kids with her for
the puppet show. Doug and Morene are also coming regularly as well.
Lydia of the Coloured race gave me a note Sunday asking me if her
daughter could become apart of our Sunday School program. You know the
answer to that one! Sutu ladies are also coming out. We want our church
to remain interracial. We are having a baby shower for Constance who is
expecting a little girl soon. She and her husband, Kenneth are Tswana as
Kenneth has moved into the area and is working for the mines. Kenneth
has been falling away from attendance lately. Pray our Lord would revive
his heart in this area. "Red and yellow black and white, they are
precious in His sight." The devil is trying to find ways to discourage
our plan, but our God is able!!! Amen? Amen!
Thursday, March 15th I was able to speak to the property development
manager concerning the property and buildings we are hoping to get. He
said the hold up had nothing to do with Dunamis Christian School, but
rather "in house" problems among the companies' executives. We would
just need to be patient. So, we will remain actively patient. We will
actively keep this "snag" before His throne. Heb. 4:12. Please join us
in praying that this problem would soon be solved.........or what our
Lord has had in mind all along! Rom. 8:28.
Be assured your prayers are at work. Thank you so much!
Jake & Sandy
